A PERSONAL NOTE: I wrote and illustrated this one in honor of my stepfather, Jim Kelly, who passed away in October. Jim grew up as a cowboy in North Dakota, dealt with alcoholism for a time, sobered up with the help of Alcoholics Anonymous, then spent the rest of his life helping people with addictions. Over nearly four decades of work, he helped thousands of people turn their lives around.

Jim was one of the best men I've encountered, and I was blessed to not only know him but have him as a step-father. He was also the last person to talk about himself, so I've done it for him. I want the whole world to know about this incredible man. Please take a moment.
